WiPower RC Car vs Formula E Driver
Qualcomm is hard at work inventing ways to bring the future of auto to everybody, starting with Formula E racing and wireless charging for EVs. The tech exists but its application is still being figured out. Rather than sit and wait, Qualcomm proved concept by inventing a wirelessly charging RC car, which is awesome. But they needed a creative solution to showcase it, and to show what "the imminent arrival of wirelessly charging cars" could actually mean.
We decided to visually equivocate their paradigm-breaking RC car with it's full-sized Formula E showcar counterpart, driven by pro Lucas di Grassi. So we built a custom 1/10th scale replica body, engineered a high-octane game of synchronized stunt driving between big e-car and small e-car using cutting edge camera gear, a drone, and forced perspective techniques to show that, even when in the development stage, Qualcomm's work in auto represents the future of driving.
